The Gujarati film Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate, directed by Ankit Sakhiya, has made cinematic history by crossing the ₹50 crore gross mark at the Indian box office, according to recent trade reports. This remarkable feat is all the more astonishing given the film’s humble beginnings and modest budget.
A Spiritual Surprise Turned Blockbuster
Released on 10 October 2025, Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate is a devotional drama featuring Reeva Rachh, Karan Joshi, Shruhad Goswami, Anshu Joshi, and Kinnal Nayak.
With a production budget of just ₹ 50 lakh, the film’s financial trajectory has become the stuff of legends in Gujarati cinema.
Box Office Journey: From Slow Start to Record Breaker
During its initial weeks, the film’s box office performance was modest:
Week 1: ₹ 21 lakh
Week 2: ₹ 24 lakh
Week 3: ₹ 43 lakh
However, the fourth week changed the game. Fueled by powerful word-of-mouth, audience devotion, and increased screening counts, the film exploded at the box office. In Week 4 alone, it reportedly minted ₹ 12.32 crore.
By Day 34 (about five weeks in), Laalo had collected ₹ 36 crore net, holding strong even in its fifth week. On its 5th Monday, the film made around ₹ 2.50 crore, pushing its total gross to approximately ₹ 36.5 crore.
Trade analysts projected that, if trends continued, the film could hit ₹ 70–80 crore by the end of its run.
Major Milestones & Records
Laalo became the first Gujarati film to gross more than ₹5 crore in a single day, clocking about ₹ 5.50 crore (gross) on a Saturday in its fifth week.
On its 6th Friday, the film reportedly collected ~₹ 3.10 crore, pushing its total to around ₹ 52.10 crore.
According to Pinkvilla, with these numbers, Laalo has now surpassed Chaal Jeevi Laiye! to become the highest-grossing Gujarati film of all time.
