Bollywood playback singer Palak Muchhal has made headlines by officially entering the Guinness World Records (and the Limca Book of Records) for her exceptional humanitarian contribution — funding over 3,800 heart surgeries for children from underprivileged families across India and abroad.
From Song-Stage to Hospital Ward
Hailing from Indore, Palak’s journey into philanthropy began when, as a child, she witnessed poor children struggling during a train journey — a moment that inspired her lifelong mission.
Since then, through her foundation — the Palak Palash Charitable Foundation which she runs along with her brother Palash Muchhal — she has channelled earnings from her concerts and sometimes even personal savings to ensure children with congenital heart diseases receive timely surgeries.
Recognition Beyond Music
While Palak is known for singing hits like “Meri Aashiqui”, “Kaun Tujhe” and “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, her new accolade shows that her impact goes beyond the music charts. The record honours not her voice, but her vision — turning melody into medicine.
Her husband, composer Mithoon, echoed this commitment: “Even if there’s no show, no income – a child’s surgery will never stop.”
Continuing the Mission
With over 3,800 surgeries funded, the foundation’s model emphasises transparency and urgency, prioritising children in immediate need of life-saving care.
Palak’s story is a powerful reminder of how talent, when paired with purpose, can change thousands of lives.
